From time to time you are going to see a cartoon of this cute bunny on the blog.

This is Chocolate. A great name for a brown stuffed bunny. Here is what he looks like in digital form.

You will see him pop up every time a waffle recipe calls for any type of chocolate. And since we are a chocolate loving family you are going to see him a lot!
Origin Story
How did we end up with this bunny? I will let my son tell you the story as the bunny belongs to him.
We were chasing Santa on a fire truck, and Santa threw Chocolate The Bunny to my little sister. She saw how much I loved him and she gave him to me. Chocolate and his family are from the Smoky Mountains. I found him when he got injured by a car during a thunderstorm
My son – the Recipe Developer
I asked the AI in Canva to create a real enactment of Santa throwing the bunny from a fire truck.

This is not to scale and there weren’t bunnies with multiple ears or with their noses on the back of their heads.
And there was no snow on the ground.

We were camping at Jetty Park in Cape Canaveral, Florida. Each year at Christmas time a fire truck drives around the city throwing presents to kids that greet it. So that’s why Santa was on a fire truck throwing stuffed bunnies. I don’t know where the whole Smoky Mountain thing came from (we do love and frequently visit the Smokies!)
My son loves taking the bunny along on our adventures from retried battleships to national parks to burger joints. You will find all the “adventure logs” from his travels below.

Chocolate Lessons
“Chocolate the Bunny” is here to not only share his adventures but to also teach you more about using chocolate in waffles. Her first lesson is about the difference between natural and Dutch processed cocoa powder in waffles.
