Cheesecake fans you are going to fall in love with this blueberry dipping sauce, perfectly served up with waffle sticks. Even if cheesecake is not always your thing you have to give this sauce a try for it’s creamy texture and sweet blueberry flavor.
Don’t get me wrong I love blueberries in my waffles. But that’s not the only way to enjoy blueberries and waffles together. Check out this delicious dip with flecks of blueberry skin that we came up with:

Doesn’t the beautiful color make you want to just grab one of those waffle sticks right through the screen and dip it in that sauce! You don’t have to defy the laws of physical or the space-time continuum or any of that, you can make it in your own kitchen. Let me show you how!

Ingredients
Here is the list of ingredients you will need to make the dip:
- 1 cup blueberries
- 1 pkg cream cheese
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- Juice of 1 lemon
The lemon will help balance out the sweetness of the powdered sugar and the berries themselves. Blueberries can vary in sweetness. Wild blueberries tend to be sweeter than berries that grow on high bushes (that type you find at u-pick blueberry farms). I discovered that when I went to Maine. I made a jam with them and it was too sweet tasting until I added in some lemon juice.
The powdered sugar will give you a better texture than just using regular table sugar. Powdered sugar contains corn starch. It also incorporates better in cold ingredients than regular sugar.
💡 Tip – Bring your cream cheese to room temperature before making the dip. It will make it much easier to mix with the other ingredients when it’s softened. Depending on the temperature in your kitchen it will take about 30-60 minutes for the cream cheese to softened up enough to use.
Blender or Food Processor
You really can use either option. We currently don’t have a food processor, so I made it with my Magic Bullet blender. Whatever appliance you have that works the best, go with it. You could even do it with a sticker blender. It takes a little more work with one but certainly can be done.
Let me give you some pros of a food processor or a blender.
👍 Pros – A food processor often have a wider bowl which helps mix the ingredients quicker and is good at chopping up larger blueberries. A blender has less parts so it’s easy to clean and most have a spout for making pouring out the dip easier.

What Waffle Maker to Use
You can cut your own waffle sticks from any waffle. The sticks are going to be more even if you can make square shaped waffles instead of circles. We have a Dash Waffle Stick maker that is perfect for making waffle sticks. They come out looking like this:

Sometimes we even them just as whole waffles but if we want to dip them they are easier to break into sticker either your hands or if you want them to be more aesthetically pleasing you can use a pair of kitchen shears.
As I talk about in my post for Waffle Sticks with Peanut Butter Dipping Sauce, I usually increase the sugar and corn starch in my waffle sticks so that they are crunchy and better for dipping. You want a waffle stick that you can get into that dip. If you got floppy waffles it isn’t going to work.
